GENERAL INFORMATION

ENTRY NUMBERS:

Each individual exhibitor must get an exhibitor’s number ($2.00).  Numbers may be obtained prior to the Fair by sending $2 to:  Custer County Fair, PO Box 246, Hermosa 57744.  Numbers will also be available at the fair office.

EXHIBITORS:

Youth exhibitors may be competing with adults in the various lots.

Beef, Sheep, and Swine exhibitors should wear long or short sleeved dress shirt or blouse of any color and long, dark-colored jeans or pants, and hard-soled shoes or boots with closed toes.  No commercial advertising of any sort may be on clothing or the equipment in the show ring.  Dairy exhibitors should wear a white shirt or blouse, white or black pants or jeans, and hard-soled shoes with a closed toe.  

ALL animal showmen are required to sign a Waiver (ADULT WAIVER – MINORS WAIVER) prior to participating.  Forms and notary will be available at the Fair Office.

EXHIBITS:

Five ribbons placings may be given in each lot.  4-H exhibitors may not use exhibits already entered under 4-H division, other than livestock.

ENTRY:

Entry time –  2:00 – 7:00 pm Thursday and 8:00 – 11:30 am Friday excluding Livestock, Crops, and Literary (check Department).  Late entries must have PRIOR approval of Department Superintendent.  Judging will immediately follow the close of entries on Friday.

EXHIBIT REMOVAL:

All exhibits EXCEPT CATTLE are to remain until 2 pm Sunday or premium money will be forfeited.  Exhibits MUST be picked up between 2 pm – 4 pm Sunday.  Superintendents will NOT be responsible for exhibits remaining after 4 pm Sunday.

FOOD SALES:

Food from the Fine Arts Department will be sold at 4 pm Friday.  Any item not for sale must have a notation of this on the entry tag.  Sale proceeds will be used to benefit facilities.

LIVESTOCK: 

Hay, feed and bedding must be furnished by the exhibitor.  All livestock pens must be cleaned before premium money is awarded.

BUILDINGS:

Exhibit buildings will be open as follows:
Thursday         Beef Barn 8 am – 7 pm, all others 2 pm – 7 pm
Friday              Beef Barn 8 am – 7 pm, all others 4 pm (following judging) – 7 pm
Saturday          8 am – 4 pm
Sunday            8 am – 2 pm

PREMIUMS:

Cash premiums paid for the first three places.  Open Class premiums will be paid Sunday 2 – 4 pm at the Fair Office.  Premium money not claimed on Sunday will be forfeited unless previous arrangements have been made.  NO premiums under $5.00 will be mailed.
